Introduction

In this post the trainee will gain experience in Assertive Outreach and inpatient psychiatry. There will be the opportunity to do community visits

Role of trainee

1. The trainee will have the opportunity to assess new referrals to AOT
2. Team formulation presentations
3. Domiciliary assessments, review and treatment of AOT patients
4. On-call commitment: 1 in 11
5. Teaching: Opportunities to teach junior doctors, nurses, staff grade, medical students and foundation doctors
6. Audit: the trainee will be encouraged to take on an audit project and be supported the clinical audit department
7. Management: the trainer is associate medical director, so trainees will have the opportunity to attend management meetings
8. Special Interests: 2 X ½ day sessions (on one day) for SI/research
