1. DETAILS OF PLACEMENT (LOCATION, POPULATION, INPATIENT OR OUTPATIENT, BEDS)
The post is Crisis resolution and home treatment team in the community focussed with opportunities through this for working in partnership with multiple teams. There are inpatient, EIS and CCTT teams in place with which the post holder must interface.
We cover Burnley, Pendle, Rosendale and Hindburn area. There are also inpatient responsibilities which allow active links with inpatients under our team, where we facilitate early discharge and treat in community.

2. DETAILS OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPERIENCE TRAINEE WILL GAIN
Outpatient Work: The trainee will run two CPA clinics weekly, these can either conducted at the home of client or in one of our trust facilities such as outpatient clinics.
The trainee will gain extensive experience of a very busy community patch, with high levels of SMI and dual diagnosis patients who are acutely ill and requiring high level of care.

Allocation Meeting: Attending the daily team clinical and allocation meeting with members of the team. This will help to identify cases that require early intervention and medical input. This will also develop skills in multi-professional working , delegation and management.

Community Work: The trainee will take part in organising domiciliary visits to assess and manage patients in their own homes environments.
This will help to understand management in the natural environment to clients.

Inpatient Work: This is mainly conducted whilst recommending in patients treatment for the clients under CRHTT or facilitating early discharge. This reuire close working relationships with inpatient colleagues.
Trainee is also involved in inpatient work when on call during out of hours.

Medico legal work: Not many as involved in crisis work mostly. May get the odd opportunity to provide court reports for patients- rare.

Any other clinical commitment: liaison with CCTT, EIS, inpatient team, Recovery teams, PMHT and GP’s and other statutory agencies

3. JUNIOR DOCTOR SUPPORT AND SUPERVISION
Supervise 2 CT or FY trainees in out of hours when on call

4. ON CALL COMMITMENT AND PAY BANDING
Daytime on-call: None
Out of hours on-call: Covering Blackburn and Burnley- 1:9

5. TEACHING / SUPERVISION / ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE
There are ample opportunities to facilitate teaching sessions for medical students and core trainees (like video teaching, giving tutorials, small group teaching and case-based discussions).

6. AUDIT / RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES
The educational supervisor will support research in the department and audit is an expected part of the attachment.
The trainee will be encouraged to develop or participate in research activity as part of postgraduate degree or as part of training programme research experience.

7. MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE
There are a number of opportunities to take part in the managerial processes behind developing the services. The team focus is on streamlining and improving the efficiency of the services in all its aspects, to manage an area of high morbidity with a limited resource.
The trainee will be encouraged and supported to develop his/her own management project.
