Description of placement
The unit offers both out-patient and day-patient psychotherapy. The trainee works in a specialist team providing brief structured psychotherapies. Particular experience is gained of cognitive behavioural therapy and psychodynamic therapy.

There is a regular team meeting to discuss progress and regular psychotherapy supervision in addition to educational supervision.

A weekly educational session is held at Gaskell House in Manchester, where trainees and trainers in psychotherapy from the different centres in Manchester meet.

Trainees are encouraged to take part in other educational meetings and relevant courses ( e.g. one week course in psychodynamic-interpersonal therapy).
