StR/ SpR POST DETAILS 2009-2010

DETAILS OF PLACEMENT:

Mainly inpatient, one out-patient clinic a week. CMHT liaison.

DUTIES OF TRAINEE AND EXPERIENCE GAINED:

Core post. There is an ST1-3 trainee linked to the team.

Independent management of patients with severe and enduring mental illness, in and out-paitnet.
Liaison with CMHT.

ON CALL COMMITMENT:

1:11. Band 1B.

TEACHING / ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE:

Supervision of F1 and GP trainees
Opportunities to lecture, teach communication skills, arrange seminar.

• ST trainees

RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES:

Possible via Dr. Haddad.

MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE:

Possible via medical director Dr. Colgan, but none specific to the team.

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE AVAILABLE:

Possible to arrange prison work at Forest Bank.
